Pastor Michael Smith

Pastor Michael Smith and his wife Debbie have a passion to serve Christ with all their hearts. They are honored to now be a part of the community of Starke where they are serving Starke Community Church.
Michael grew up in the church but didn’t truly come to the saving grace of Jesus Christ until the age of 26. It was at that time where he truly surrendered to God’s perfect purpose for his life. A few years later, Michael met the love of his life, Debbie and they’ve been married for almost 19 years. They have three awesome kids, Rebekah, Leah, and Elijah.

Michael felt the call to serve God full time while practicing as an attorney. He felt such a draw to win souls and preach the gospel that he gave up his practice and received his credentials and ordination through the Assemblies of God in 2009. They have served as children’s pastors for many years and they know that children are not only the future but the present! Mike and Debbie have gone on and attended multiple missions trips and have a love for the lost that extends locally, stateside, and internationally.

When Michael’s not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, watching Marvel movies, fishing, watching the Red Sox and Patriots, good Chinese cuisine, and shopping. (Just kidding, he hates to shop)!

Pastor Gregory Yarbrough

Hello, we’re the Yarbroughs –
Pastor Greg, wife Sarah, & daughter Caroline.

We’re all Florida-born and raised in the Assemblies of God. We absolutely love our Fusion Youth Group teens and leaders! From the openness and sincerity during group Q&A sessions to the hilarious fun we share during events like summer youth camps, our students are growing strong in relationships with Jesus and with each other. We help our teens dig deep into God’s Word for His wisdom in dealing with challenges that come with growing up.

Pastor Greg, who helped plant SCC in 2012, earned his Bachelor’s degree from Southeastern University in Lakeland, FL. His focus is preaching to and teaching teens, college students, and beyond. He is very passionate about foreign missions and, while waiting on God’s timing to lead his own family to serve overseas, he hopes to infuse our youth group with the desire to sacrificially love Jesus and take the message of Salvation where it hasn’t been heard.

Sarah has a long children’s ministry resume and attended AGTS in Springfield, MO, where she became passionate about ministries that fight global human trafficking and child slavery. She loves mentoring our Fusion female students and challenging them to trust God’s plan even though being a Christ-follower makes us radically different than “the norm”.

Our sweet Caroline loves singing along to Corey Voss worship music, walking our mini Australian shepherd Bella, and running around the church chatting with our SCC family after services. She is a gentle, goofy girl who shares her daddy’s love of chocolate and her mama’s love of nature.

We welcome you to SCC and would love to meet your teen students @ Fusion Youth on Wednesdays at 7 pm!
(If transportation is difficult for your teen, please ask for information about our youth bus routes.)
